NOT YET

That is good to hear, our protections are only as good as the legislation, education, and enforcement of the laws. It's a good idea to be prepared incase you become injured.

Here are some things you can do now,  tips and suggestions that might ease the pain when you are injured.

  1. Try to keep a float the equivalent to 3 months of your salary, in a savings account or Canadian savings bonds.

  2. If you qualify for coverage on your mortgage, loans, or life insurance for accident/illness protection. I'd recommend getting it. read through the agreement first of course.

  3. Make sure a loved one knows where you keep all your information and files. They will be stressed enough if you are not conscious from an injury, make it easy on them.

  4. Take a level one Health and Safety course from the Workers Health and Safety Centre, knowledge is powerful.

  5. Keep a journal in a file folder , it'll be one less thing you will have to do while you are in pain.

  6. If you are feeling pain after you leave work or perform a certain task, theres a good chance others are as well. Report it to your Supervisor and let your JHSC worker rep know you did. Document this in your journal as well. Here is some more information "Working While Injured"
