Making it Fair !
I thought the photo might spark some curiousity :-) The OFL organized a massive day of action, calling on all communities to rally at Queens park to demand a Fair living wage. This action was massive ! Here in Windsor Cupe 543 and the WDLC sponsored and organized a coach bus, scheduled to depart for Toronto at 7:00am. Activists representing most sectors slowly loaded up for the comfortable journey. As Brian Hogan loaded supplies, Jessie ushered us into our seats. I was releaved to see some familiar faces from labour council.
Upon arrival at Queens Park we were directed to a corner to offload and stretch. The music and cheering amplified as the doors opened, giving us a all smiles. I did my best to capture the Rally with video and photograghs. I gravitated towards the enormous section of red Unifor flags, and was warmly welcomed in. Over the sounds that protestors often make at rallys, I heard a distinct voice and was drawn to it. Sister Christine Machlin was in Toronto and representing the 195 in full swag ! She introduced me to so many Sisters and Brothers, I couldn't keep track of all their names. By the time the rally wrapped up I was grateful to have experienced it and settled in for the ride home to process the sheer magnitude of issues that were addressed. Windsor bound :-)
